72 miles east of Atlanta, Athens is a city in northeast Georgia. It's known for its antebellum architecture. It marks the start of the state's Antebellum Trail of historic Civil War towns. The T.R.R. Cobb House, the mansion of a mid-19th-century lawyer, has period furniture and exhibits related to Southern history. Nearby, the Taylor Grady House is a Greek Revival mansion, and the Church-Waddel-Brumby House dates from the early 19th century.

The Evergreen Packaging Athens Carton Converting Facility is located in Athens, Georgia, which is also home to the University of Georgia and is approximately an hour from the city of Atlanta and its cosmopolitan amenities. Opened in 1951 and employing 163 team members, the facility ships over two billion gable top cartons annually. Athens prints and die cuts refrigerated gable top cartons for a variety of global brands found in retail groceries throughout the US.

Responsibilities

Job Duties:

· Report directly to and support the facility plant manager

· Responsible for all aspects of manufacturing at plant. Establishes local strategy, leadership of workforce and interface with key internal customers.

· Responsible for overseeing production shift team leaders.

· Responsible for a plant population of 200+ employees with high complexity and a 24/5 operation.

· Actively builds a work environment that fosters operational, team and individual excellence by demonstrating effective leadership, communication and people support behaviors.

· Effectively communicates at all levels, to plant staff and senior management.

· Manages annual operating plan and deployment of resources to deliver production commitments in key safety, quality, service, and cost target areas.

· Supports internal customer groups to ensure attainment of EBIDTA targets and delivery of finished products to meet customer expectations.

· Provides leadership to develop safety culture required to achieve and sustain world-class safety performance, including development and execution of effective safety processes.

· Responsible for developing annual operating plans, budgets, and detailed plans to deliver.

· Competent in Lean Manufacturing execution, and process based continuous improvement. Provides Leadership to establish a culture of continuous improvement leveraging Lean Manufacturing principles.

· Fosters positive workplace culture and participates in team-building/recognition initiatives

· Complies with all local, state and federal regulations.

Qualifications

Qualifications:

· BS/BA in engineering or business with 5 - 7 years’ experience in manufacturing operations including management/supervisory experience required.

· Must have financial aptitude, analytical skills, proven leadership effectiveness.

· Ability to effectively communicate at all levels, to plant staff and senior management.

· Established track record of manufacturing accomplishments

· Experience in managing change in a high paced environment

· Have a progressive history of Lean Manufacturing within a manufacturing environment

· Management/supervisory experience required.

· Clear understanding of regulatory requirements required to manufacturing operations management

· Must be willing and able to promote and open to relocation as position is a path to plant management
