Plant Human Resources Manager
The Human Resources Manager provides leadership and strategic support for Pactiv’s Downingtown, PA plant, closely partnering with plant leaders and HR colleagues to ensure the continued building of a high performing, highly engaged work force. Responsibilities will include managing a range of activities related to employee/labor relations, staffing and hourly recruitment functions, payroll administration, and facilitating HR programs, practices, and guidelines that foster a proactive work culture inside a unionized manufacturing facility, with approximately 200 employees.This position is for Pactiv, a company of Reynolds Group Holding Inc.
Provide functional/operational human resources guidance through planning, organizing and controlling the activities of the Human Resources functions at the plant level.
Serve as a functional resource for employee base, ensuring their understanding and compliance with benefit and HR policies and regulations.
Keep management advised of potential problem areas and recommend/implement solutions as appropriate.
Evaluate reports, decisions, and results in relation to established goals.
Recommend new approaches, policies, and procedures to support continual improvement.
Participate in the development and implementation of plant goals, objectives and systems.
Manage recruitment effort for all exempt, non-exempt, and hourly employees; monitor recruitment program; employee relations counseling; performance planning.
Manage and maintain department records and reports.
Actively participate in plant and HR projects and meetings.
Manage vendor relationships.
May perform other responsibilities related to plant operations, including but not limited to safety, property management, office administration and supervision of support functions. Perform other duties as assigned.
BA/BS degree preferred in Human Resources or related area.
5-7 years of experience as HR Generalist.
Union experience, including contract administration and union negotiations, strongly preferred.
Knowledge of applicable state, federal, local employment/labor laws and regulations.Ability to communicate effectively across all levels within org.
Proficient in MS Office and Lotus Notes.
SAP experience highly desirable.
