Responsibilities

Job Description:

  • Supports all technical aspects of production equipment in the Grottoes VA Plant, with goals of maintaining quality and improving department profitability.

  • Develops process methods and controls to meet quality standards.

  • Troubleshoots mechanical, electrical equipment and process issues and provides technical leadership and training to resolve same.

  • Understand equipment operation and function as required to determine preventive and predictive maintenance needs.

  • Demonstrate team mindset and organizational agility by working closely with all team members and building strong, positive relationships.

  • Demonstrate communication and listening skills with proven ability to communicate internally and externally with all levels of the organization.

  • Assists with development of capital authorizations justified by cost reduction, reliability, repair and safety initiates.

  • Manage small to medium capital projects. (10K to 500K)

  • Manage documentation for process, future maintenance, safety, environmental and other policy compliance

  • Lead and/or support new equipment, process, and product trials and production start-up efforts.

  • Initial assignment for at least 6-12 months will be based full time in the Grottoes VA plant. Future assignments may require domestic travel up to 50% of the time, based on business needs.

Qualifications

Qualifications:

  • BS in an Engineering discipline with typically 4+ years of applicable plastics manufacturing process engineering experience – blown film and bag making process knowledge desirable.

  • Familiarity with Lean Manufacturing processes and concepts

  • Solid communications skills, both written and verbal, required. Able to communicate effectively with all levels of the organization.

  • Utilizes a variety of concepts, practices and procedures within a particular engineering field.

  • Ability to manage multiple projects and establish priorities.

  • Recognized as a technical leader and key resource.

  • Must be well organized, analytical, decisive, action oriented and a team player.

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office, SAP, AutoCad or similar
