To ensure the consistency, standardization, cost management, and manageability of these emerging digital footprints, we are looking for a highly skilled and motivated Senior Data Engineer Cloud Data Lake Integration to join our team.
Pactiv Evergreen utilizes various applications such asSAP, Blue Yonder, One Stream, and more. As a Data Engineer, you will play a crucial role in establishing efficient and reliable data management practices within our organization. Thebulk of the data engineer’s work would be in building, managing and optimizing data pipelinesand thenmoving these data pipelines effectively into production for key data and analytics consumerslike business/data analysts, data scientists or any persona that needscurated datafor data and analytics use cases across the enterprise.
This role will require both creative and collaborative working with IT and the wider business. It will involve evangelizing effective data management practices and promoting better understanding of data and analytics. The data engineer will also be tasked with working with key business stakeholders, IT experts and subject-matter experts to plan and deliver optimal analytics and data science solutions.
The position reports to the Director of Data Warehouse and Data Lake
Responsibilities:
Build data pipelines: Managed data pipelinesconsist of a series of stages through which data flows (for example, from data sources or endpoints of acquisition to integration to consumption for specific use cases). These data pipelines must be created, maintained and optimized as workloads move from development to production for specific use cases. Architecting, creating and maintaining data pipelines will be the primary responsibility of the data engineer
Data Integration and Data Lake : Bring data from disparate systems and applications into a centralized data lake on the Synapse platform. Design and develop robust ETL processes to ensure smooth and efficient data extraction, transformation, and loading.
Drive Automation through effective metadata management: The data engineer will be responsible for using innovative and modern tools, techniques and architectures to partially or completelyautomate the most-common, repeatable and tedious data preparation and integration tasks in order to minimize manual and error-prone processes and improve productivity. The data engineer will also need to assist withrenovating the data management infrastructureto drive automation in data integration and management and automate data pipelines to ensure the timely and accurate flow of data from source systems to the data lake. Implement scheduling, monitoring, and error handling mechanisms to maintain data pipeline reliability.
Data Visualization: Collaborate with data visualization teams to ensure that the data stored in the data lake is readily available fordashboard development and reporting purposes.Optimize data structures and formats to facilitate efficient data retrieval for visualization tools such as Tableau, Power BI, and BOBJ.
Data Cataloging and Documentation : Develop andmaintain data catalogingprocesses to enable easy discovery and understanding of available data assets. Document data sources, data definitions, and data lineage to ensure transparency and data governance. Synapse and Purview experience highly desired.
Qualifications
QUALIFICATIONS
Bachelor’s degreeand 5+ yearsexperience with Data Integration and platform build
Proven experience in ETL practices using tools such as SAP Data Services, SAP SLT, etc.
Deep technical knowledge around data architecture, cloud platforms, modern data ETL tools and languages, and data governance
Experience with Azure Data Factory, and Synapse is must
Strong knowledge of data governance frameworks, practices, and industry standards.
Familiarity with consumer packaging industry is a plus.
Experience working with multiple business units and applications such as SAP, Blue Yonder, One Stream, etc.
At least three years of experience working in cross-functional teams and collaborating with business stakeholders in support of a departmental and/or multi-departmental data management and analytics initiative
Proficiency in data visualization tools such as Tableau, Power BI, and BOBJ.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to collaborate effectively with business stakeholders.
Ability to adapt to a fast-paced and evolving environment.
