The Evergreen Packaging Raleigh Carton Converting Facility is located in Raleigh, North Carolina, which is also home to North Carolina State University and the state's capitol. Opened in 1953 and employing 120 team members. The facility prints and die cuts refrigerated gable top cartons for a variety of global brands found in retail groceries throughout the US. It also extrudes cupstock and foil board and has received the State of North Carolina Excellence Award for the last 20 years. The facility has also exceded 7 years without a lost time injury.

Job Description for a Training Supervisor:

The Training Supervisor is a new position within the Raleigh Food and Beverage Merchandising facility. The facility is poised for significant growth within the next year as part of a $60M investment in the facility resulting in more than doubling the team member population. This position be responsible for the coordination, execution and implementation of all learning programs used to train new and existing team members at Raleigh, NC manufacturing facility. S/he will manage two full time training coordinators to ensure delivery of needed learning interventions, manage an organization with 4 full time trainers and support their development, track delivery, maintain and communicate performance metrics reporting and track associate performance to ensure continuous improvement. S/he will develop an active partnership with senior leaders across the organization to coordinate and schedule training and drive consistencies in performance, and to determine specific training requirements and provide resources to meet the workforce training needs of the business.


  • Hire, manage, coach, assess and develop the trainers and coordinate their work

  • Plan, schedule, and coordinate all required Associate training for the site

  • Train, assess, coach and develop Auxiliary Trainers and coordinate their work

  • Provide reports and statistics on Specialty- and Site-specific training performance against goals

  • Partner with Site Leadership to ensure that training is appropriate to the training audience and designed to fulfill requirements with the optimal delivery methodology for strategic training initiatives

  • Team with Site Leadership to drive strategy, infrastructure, best practices and continuous improvement

  • Responsible for a mature certification process that is used to aid in training and basis for advancement.

  • Align training goals to facility employee retention goals.

  • Ensure complete, accurate and timely data collection and communication by trainers

  • Deliver training as needed - up to 20%.

  • Lead by example, modeling PTVE leadership principles



  • Successful experience as a people supervisor/manager

  • Skilled in assessing, teaching and coaching training skills

  • High level of adaptability, flexibility and effectiveness in handling multiple priorities simultaneously in a 24/7 manufacturing environment

  • Exceptional communication and written skills

  • poised, confident and engaging presenter of a variety of topics in a range of settings, delivering to large and remote audiences

  • write a variety of documents, proposals, reports, training course outlines and content, written tests/assessments and other documents necessary for training department management

  • Exceptional relationship-building and influencing skills and the ability to lead a functional organization with direct authority

  • Ability to collaborate with a range of business partners, subject matter experts, cross-functional teams

  • Skilled in use of training technology for delivery and use of technology for development of training materials and general work deliverables

  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.

  • Passion for teaching and public speaking.

  • Strong teamwork abilities.

  • In-depth knowledge of staff learning and assessment protocol.

  • Friendly and approachable.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in related filed

  • Successful experience managing a team in a multinational organization

  • Experience in a technical training role

  • Learning/training certification a plus

  • Fluent in English and Spanish reading, writing, and speaking a plus
